SECTION 1:  REDEFINING WHO A STRANGER IS

Session A:   45 Minutes

Session B:   45 Minutes

 

The STOP ABDUCTION curriculum will teach High School students to:

  • Review the importance of using and responding to their 5 Senses.
  • Identify strange feelings that are generated from a “gut” feeling.
  • Tell a trusted adult when they have a gut feeling about someone or something.
  • Know how to communicate with people they know, hardly know and do not know at all online and face to face.
  • Understand how the use of their senses is limited on the internet and, as a result, they are unable to adequately interpret any prompting from their senses.
  • Identify the difference between a “friend” and an online predator.
  • Learn the importance of appropriate image sharing.
  • Tell a trusted adult when they are concerned about who a friend is communicating to.
  • Recognize the difference between facts and fiction as it relates to their self-worth.
  • Set boundaries – “10 Point” secure check as it relates to human trafficking.

SECTION 2:  SELF-DEFENSE

Session A:  45 Minutes

Session B:  45 Minutes

 

STOP ABDUCTION students will be trained with specially designed “STOP IT NOW” Break-Away moves which combine Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  The Break-Away defense program is designed to educate students on how to break free from a person or a situation that may bring them harm.


SECTION 3:  HOW TO “LIVE SAFE” IN THE WORLD AROUND US

Session A:  45 Minutes

Session B:  45 Minutes

 

STOP ABDUCTION students will review the above-referenced sections and collaboratively discuss how to incorporate the newly learned skills into their daily lives.

EDUCATORS/FACILITATORS: The purpose of the STOP ABDUCTION curriculum format is to encourage student participation while guiding students to a suggested answer.  This method will increase student participation and improve comprehension capabilities.
